Lifesaving demonstration at Annual Regatta day in Seaham Dock on August 12 1896. Health and Safety would have a field day with this one!! First regatta was on July 30 1835 on the day of the opening of the South Dock. 5000 attended, which wasn't bad considering the total population of Seaham was less than 2000.
