The "George Elmy" 1950-1962, a 35' 6" Liverpool Class boat arrived in Seaham on 13/1/1950 and is shown here on 26/6/1950 when she was formally christened by the Marchioness of Londonderry.

The George Elmy was a Liverpool-type boat but capable of being launched from a beach. She weighed 8 tons and carried two 18 horse-power watertight petrol engines, giving her a speed of seven and a half knots.
