Records differ as to the date of the first night, acc to Tom Mcnee it was July 26 1875 with ' The Two Orphans ' while the caption on the original of this picture states - First Company, Theatre Royal, Seaham Harbour. Opened November 11th 1873.
Demolished in the late 1890's by the new owner Ac Harrison it was rebuilt on the same site.
