This chair was made by Londonderry workmen at his estate in Ireland and presented at the consecration of St Hild and St Helen's by the Marchioness of Londonderry in 1912.

The "DLI Chair" a beautifully carved oak sanctuary chair presented by the 4th Battalion in 1919 to St Hild and St Helen's in remembrance of the free use of the church for parade services and the cordial welcome afforded the thousands of men who passed through the battalion during the war.
The battalion was billeted in Dawdon schools.
