The north end of the beach railway as it swings around the cliff, built in 1899 to transport sand and gravel to the blockyards at the dock where the huge concrete blocks were made for the building of the piers. After several deaths, the last in July 1933 when Wm Fisher aged 9 fell into the water and drowned, it was demolished in the 1933. Photograph c1930.
