From the left, Dalton Ave, The Avenue, Bethune, Colling, Portland and Malvern. The old High Colliery streets can be seen at the top of the frame and Seaham Colliery (the Nack) and brickworks at top right. The allotments at bottom right ran all the way to Dawdon crossings. Rhubarb from these allotments was still forcing it's way through the paved Strangford Road in the 1950s.

Seaton Hall above centre was a boarding school (Seaton House Boarding School)for 19 well to do young ladies and one boy aged between 3 and 18 in 1871. Pupils came from as far afield as Northumberland and Birmingham

Dunn Cow at left a public house since 1851, 400 years old farm cottages ( white walls red doors and windows ) above centre. These houses were recently demolished, disgraceful but unsurprising in this area. Seaton Hall at right ( c 1600 ).
