Candlish Bottleworks shortly after closure around 1928. The town's second gasworks at centre built in 1873 produced gas until 1936 then became a storage facility for Sunderland Gas Co. Fenwick Row is in front of the Bottleworks and Gallery Row above. Does anyone know the buildings at top centre on the edge of the allotments?
Electricity came to Seaham in 1927 with Seaham UDC's Electricity Co. which by 1935 had over 5000 customers.
