Looking west, village green to right, the stone built cottage at the end of the green was the "Reeve" house. The "Reeve" was a local officer resposible for the letting of the green which was common land, and the conduct of the people who used it. The last "Reeve" to live there was a local farmer Henry Storey. The duties of the Reeve were taken over by the Parish Council and the cottage demolished c1910.
