Hello, in this new section we will try to keep you up to date on what is happening, not happening or we would like to happen on the site.Also, many of the Sunderland photographs have been greatly enhanced by the addition of captions supplied by Len Charlton, an ex Sunderland lad now in his eighties and living in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Not all of Len's captions have hit the site yet but should do soon. Also in the Sunderland section Alf Redford has supplied some interesting Shipyard photographs and Ally some cracking shots of the East End.For those of you still waiting for the maps we should have them up and running soon. Please let us know if there is anything you would like to see on the site or anything you could add, photographs or memories.Lastly, why is everyone so shy? only one in every 150 or so visitors leaves a message or asks a question, we can usually help with anything to do with the Greater Seaham area. WEB STAT, the Visitor Counter on our Home Page no longer reflects the number of visitors to our site so has been removed. A freebie, it only counted visitors who entered the site via the Home Page and totally ignored everyone else. Our internal stat, however, counts sessions (unique visits to the site) and as most of our visitors are now bypassing the Home Page and coming in on their preferred section, it gives a realistic count. Unfortunately there is no facility to make this count visible so in future we will update a visitor total, weekly, on the News and Development and Home pages.

The current visitor total since Jan 9th 2008 as of midnight Oct 9th 2008 is 68,418, an average of 246 per day.
Visitors have been recorded from 109 countries and at least 40 US states.

Seaham Model 1864

87 photographs of an extremely accurate and detailed model of Seaham in 1864. This model is currently on display in Seaham Library though because of lack of space it is hung on a wall and in its vertical position is difficult to relate to. If you have any questions about Seaham 144 years ago then the answers are probably here. Captions are very basic but information will be added in the next week or two as time allows
