This photo was taken on "Hall Lane" and they are marching towards the corner of Church Street/Neasham Place. To the left is Houghton Workingmens' Club and the houses of the "Racecourse Estate"

The "New Town", as it still gets called today, Kirklea field and housing to the right of it (Seaham Road). The other areas around the field are known as Upper and Lower Racecourse Estate.
The Kirklea Field was often used to judge the competitions.

Houghton Council Offices, this building still stands today but is now used as a Social Services Department. A new building, by Gentoo, is situated on the corner of Newbottle Street and Station Road.
