TOWNS OTHER THAN SEAHAM / MURTON; all posts for other cities, towns and villages should go here. We will categorize later if there is a need.

UPLOADING PHOTOGRAPHS; we will be delighted for you to include photographs in your posts but please remember that they are expensive to store on a remote server and large files will not be viewable by other users.

Please post pictures at a maximum size of around 450 kilobytes, eg a postcard sized print should be scanned at 80 pixels per inch or if an existing file, reduced in size to about 480 pixels on the long side.

The picture file should then be saved to your hard drive as a JPEG file using a compression quality of 4 or 5. This will give a file size on disc of around 40 kilobytes. This file should then be added to your post following the simple instructions on the forum.

Alternatively, if you are unable to follow these instructions, Email your picture to dave@east-durham.co.uk  and the file will be re-sized and returned to you.
