Joe Parkin at his hut doorway in 1933, the address was 53 Blue House Crimdon.
This is one of the huts that were in Crimdon Dene in the early 30s the notice on the side of the hut tells you when the well water was available.

Howe's camp in Crimdon Dene, this camp is the reason the Council built the council houses at Blackhall Rocks. The camp had no services, the only water available was from a well which was soon contaminated because there were no toilet facilities.

This old photo is of Hart Sands c 1930 a man called Stobie from Murton built this tea room on the beach, he also had a charabanc service which he used to bring people from Murton and other places to what now is known as Crimdon. Photograph and info Bob Williams
